The difference between a good government contract and a difficult one is almost never the cleaning. It is the reporting, the responsiveness, and the ability to answer a question about a specific site on a specific date without going looking for the answer.

Five things the specification never says

Public-facing standards
These buildings are used by people who will photograph a dirty amenities block and post it. Presentation is a political matter, not only an operational one.
Documented compliance
Government is audited. The evidence trail must be complete and produceable on request, including years later.
Variation discipline
Events, hall hire, storm response and seasonal peaks generate work outside base scope. We price against a Schedule of Rates agreed at mobilisation.
Local employment
We recruit locally where the contract requires it and report against those commitments. On the Cassowary Coast we established local employment within four weeks.
Defensible value
Pricing has to survive a Director, an Audit Committee and eventually the public. Our submissions are built from hours, award rates and statutory on-costs.
CLEARANCE WHERE REQUIRED

Cleared, inducted, evidenced

All personnel hold national police clearance as a baseline. Where a site requires higher clearance we deploy only cleared staff and maintain a current register of clearance status. Contingency staffing is inducted in advance, because a controlled site cannot accept a same-day substitution from a labour pool.
